Morgan County Plan Commission voted to adopt an amendment to its rules and procedures and approved changing the October meeting date to Oct. 22.
A commission member asked for a term-date correction on the back of the agenda; members agreed to amend Article 2 to reflect the correct appointment year for one member. A motion to accept the rules and procedures as amended (Article 2) was made and seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote.
Commissioners also discussed scheduling. After some calendar checks and member availability conversation, the commission moved the October meeting from its previously scheduled date to Oct. 22. A motion to move the October meeting to Oct. 22 was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
In reports, a commissioner mentioned Heartland Crossing (noted as Heartland Crossing Golf Course in the discussion). Commission members said no application has been submitted yet; they discussed possibilities such as green space and walking paths but clarified that no formal plans had been filed with the county.
Why it matters: adopting updated rules and clarifying meeting dates governs how the commission will operate and schedule reviews for future development proposals. The Heartland Crossing mention indicates a potential future application but, as of the meeting, no formal submission had been made to the county.
