Plan Commission approves replat of 1710 Lincoln Hill Road (RP2506)

Morgan County Plan Commission members voted to approve petition RP2506 to vacate Lot 2 in Kirkley Minor Flat and replat the property at 1710 Lincoln Hill Road into two lots.
Ross Draupley, of Draupley Surveying and Engineering, presented the petition on behalf of petitioners Jess and Leanna Hull, who were not at the meeting. Draupley said the parcel is in Washington Township, is zoned agricultural and was originally platted under an earlier planning jurisdiction. He told the commission the proposal would create a southern lot that meets the two-acre minimum and a larger lot of about 6.5 acres. Draupley said the property is served by city water along Lincoln Hill Road and would use septic systems for wastewater.
The commission closed the public hearing after confirming no members of the public had signed up to speak. A commission member moved to approve RP2506; another member seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
Why it matters: approving the replat lets the petitioners record a new lot configuration in the platted subdivision and proceeds the county’s subdivision-review process. The commission’s approval does not change the parcel’s agricultural zoning and, according to the presentation, does not propose lots smaller than the local two-acre minimum.
The county record will reflect the replat for future permitting and addressing. The petitioners indicated the southern lot will meet the minimum two-acre requirement and the larger lot will be roughly 6.5 acres; utilities will include city water along Lincoln Hill Road and individual septic systems.
