County picks chem‑17 blood panel for employee health fair; flu shots optional

Health‑department staff explained the two vendor proposals: the chem‑17 only option costs $72 per participant; the chem‑17 plus BMI and blood‑pressure measurements costs $89 per participant. The PSA test for men is an additional optional test and would be applied to male participants. Commissioners voted to proceed with the chem‑17 panel and to offer PSA to male employees who opt in.
Staff noted that lab results will be returned to individual participants through their MyChart accounts and that the county as employer will not receive individual health results; participants are advised to follow up with their personal physicians as needed. The county also confirmed it will offer voluntary flu shots at the fair.
