Council approves minutes and accepts two Northview subdivisions; motions pass unanimously

The North Ogden City Council on Sept. 9 voted unanimously to approve meeting minutes for Aug. 19 and Aug. 26 and to accept subdivision improvements for two phases of Northview Estates.
The council approved the minutes for the Aug. 19 and Aug. 26 meetings by voice vote without further comment.
On Northview Estates Phase 9, staff reported the 28‑lot subdivision (recorded in 2024) includes curb, gutter, sewer, storm drain, water and street lights; sidewalks and street lights remained to be physically installed but the developer had paid invoices and a contractor was working on the lights. The city’s public works staff recommended conditional acceptance to begin the one‑year warranty period; Council member Dalpez moved the motion and Council member Watson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Council then considered Northview Estates Phase 8, a 44‑lot subdivision recorded in June 2022 that staff said had completed required sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement, slurry seal and striping. City engineer Eric Kasterson recommended final acceptance. Council member Pulver moved the motion for final acceptance and Council member Parker seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
City staff confirmed for the council that the required improvements meet city standards and that warranties and punch lists will be managed through the normal city inspection and acceptance processes.
Actions taken tonight will be recorded in the city’s official minutes and the developer warranties and the warranty periods will be monitored by public works staff.
