The Board of Estimates on Aug. 6 heard a Department of Public Works request to note an emergency roof replacement at the Montebello Filtration Plant.
Deputy Director Alan Robinson said leaks and animal ingress had led to exposure of instrumentation and a risk to compliance at the treatment plant, prompting the emergency request. The clerk’s opening remarks listed SB2512462 for Coal Roofing Company Inc. with a contract amount of $401,410. Robinson said the emergency work was needed to protect a significant investment in new instrumentation and to keep the plant operating within regulatory requirements.
Board members had no questions on the presented emergency need and the clerk recorded the item as noted rather than as an item requiring a board vote.
