The district will reduce the interval for non‑fingerprint volunteer background checks from five years to two years, and volunteers will pay a reduced per‑check fee of $12.95 (down from $17.25). The district will continue to use fingerprint‑based checks — which it described as providing a Rap Back alert if a fingerprint match later generates a record — for volunteers in positions involving one‑on‑one contact or overnight trips.
