Director’s report: Martha Way Aquifer Storage and Recovery pilot cleared to proceed; permits issued

Meeting remarks said staff have completed early neighbor outreach for work that will take place in city right-of-way and on Southeast Greenway property, that local water and sewer operations staff assisted with construction of a temporary water-supply connection to the well, and that “all permits have been issued to the Santa Rosa Plain GSA for the project.” The report said the GSA had been given notice the project can proceed and that the contractor will schedule deployment of the first phase in the coming weeks.
The report described the first phase as a deep cleaning of the well in preparation for injection and recovery testing and surface distribution of water for testing and data collection. Staff said the project is anticipated to conclude in late fall.
