The Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 Board of Education voted to affirm and approve the district’s 10-year life-safety survey and its list of identified work items.
District finance director Joe Blomquist described the survey process during the meeting, saying architects compiled a list of work items that "must be taken care of or recommended to be taken care of." The approved affirmation is a required step before the district submits the survey to the regional superintendent for review.
Board member Missus Hosler moved to approve the application for the 10-year life-safety survey report; Missus Assaf seconded the motion. The board then voted 6–0, with one member absent, to approve the affirmation.
Board discussion referenced attachments breaking down items by school and category; members asked staff to show, during committee follow-up, which of the life-safety items would typically be included in the annual summer capital projects budget.
