Brimfield Township Swears In Jasmine Golden as Fiscal Officer

The Brimfield Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to Jasmine Golden as fiscal officer during a brief swearing-in ceremony at a township meeting.

Trustee Nick Quay, who said he served on the interview panel, introduced Golden and praised her credentials. "Her education, her experience, her drive of determination, I really believe this is gonna be monumental for Brimfield Township," Quay said.

Quay told meeting attendees that the panel interviewed three candidates and that Golden "rose to the top." The ceremony included the oath of office: "I, Jasmine Golden, having been duly appointed as fiscal officer for Brimfield Township, Ohio, do solemnly swear that I shall support the Constitution of the United States, the constitution and laws of the state of Ohio, and the rules and regulations of Brimfield Township, Ohio, faithfully, honestly and impartially discharge and perform all duties incumbent upon me as fiscal officer. So help me God." Golden repeated portions of the oath as directed.

Golden thanked family and friends in attendance. "I'm just thankful for the journey," she said, naming her daughters, mother and other relatives who attended. Trustees invited family forward for photographs and said the event was being livestreamed so the public could observe.

Quay said the board and Golden would "start work tomorrow." Trustee Sue Fields was introduced as present at the meeting; no additional remarks from Fields were recorded in the transcript.
