The Angola Common Council on Monday, Aug. 4, approved a set of ordinances, a façade grant, an advisory engagement and routine financial items during a regularly scheduled meeting.

The council completed third readings and final approvals for several ordinances including personnel appointments for city police and firefighters (Ordinance No. 17-81-2025), changes to the city's open burning rules (Ordinance No. 17-82-2025), and a zoning map amendment for the property at 520 South 100 East (Ordinance No. 17-83-2025). The council also approved an ordinance adjusting compensation for elected officials for 2026 (Ordinance No. 17-84-2025) and a first reading and subsequent approval correction for an additional appropriation for the Center Lakes park/community building project (Ordinance No. 17-85-2025).
