Committee approves $1.55 million Prop HHH commitment for Path Villas Hollywood infrastructure

The Housing and Homelessness Committee on July 30 approved an additional Prop HHH commitment of up to $1,552,139.57 to complete remaining street and infrastructure work for the Path Villas Hollywood supportive housing project at 5627 West Fernwood Avenue in Council District 6.

The Los Angeles Housing Department told the committee that the apartment building construction is largely complete but that the project still requires street and related infrastructure (referred to in materials as "STIs") to finish the project and meet program requirements. Two AHSC-funded projects have already passed their July 2025 deadlines; the department said it has requested a state extension and will need one additional extension to avoid repaying funds.

Committee members asked whether other AHSC projects are behind schedule and whether alternative sources exist to fill shortfalls. LAHD said most buildings are constructed and the immediate need is limited to two projects with lapsed deadlines; the department said it has submitted at least one extension request to the state and is seeking another extension while identifying funding to complete the work.

On a roll call the item was approved: Council member Raman, yes; Council member Hurdalo, yes; Council member Blumenfield, absent (2 ayes). The vote authorizes amending the Prop HHH fiscal-year project expenditure plan to add the commitment to Path Villas Hollywood.

The approval covers commitment of Prop HHH uncommitted balance to complete required street and infrastructure items tied to the project; the approval does not describe additional new programs or changes to tenant eligibility. LAHD staff said completion of the infrastructure would allow the project to meet program closeout requirements once extensions are resolved.
