Applicant Anna Shea and pool contractor Daryl Cook of Ambassador Pools told the board the property’s septic leach field occupies much of the backyard and leaves no other compliant location for the pool. "There is no other place on the property that the pool can go legally," Cook said in explaining the site constraints. The applicants also said four adjacent neighbors gave written non‑opposition; the submission included those acknowledgements.
The board reviewed dimensions: the pool structure is 16 by 32 feet with decking around three sides, which the applicants said does not change the pool’s required ground setbacks. One board member described having driven by the property and concluded there was insufficient space elsewhere on the lot to accommodate the pool without undue burden to the applicant’s use of the property.
The board moved and approved the petition; no special conditions beyond the standard permitting process were recorded on the hearing record. The applicant was congratulated and told the board she would proceed with the project.
