Franklin County staff report road patching nearly complete; countywide flood damage about $75,000

Dustin, a county staff member, told the commission that the majority of recovered material for chipseal has been brought in and crews have completed patchwork in approved areas. He also said crews removed a bull pin at the transfer station and that the site is ready for follow-up work.
Dustin said the county has preliminary damage of “right around $75,000” from flooding that occurred in May and June. He said the monetary threshold the county needs to meet for broader assistance is $125,000 and that the county will be “real close” to that threshold when city damage is added to the county total.
In a separate staff report, Derek said he and Janet will meet with Rodney next week to obtain audited numbers and hoped to begin budget refinements in August. Derek said staff want to allow time for discussion in case difficult decisions are required.
