The Franklin County Commission approved a rezoning request for property commonly known as 4334 Stafford Road and a related subdivision plat at its July 23 meeting.
Pat, a staff member, told the commission that the applicant requested to rezone 10 acres to the RE District to allow a family member to build on that lot and to split the remaining 59.39 acres into two parcels. Pat said a letter from Rural Water 1 will supply water to the 10-acre lot. Under the proposal the land would be divided into a 19.57-acre lot containing a house and farmstead and a 38.89-acre lot to remain agricultural.
Pat said the planning staff and the Franklin County Planning Commission recommended approval. There was no extended discussion before the commission moved and approved the rezoning and the plat.
Commissioner Wehmeyer, Commissioner Meador, Commissioner Dickinson, Commissioner Stoudemire and Chair Harris voted yes on the rezoning motion and on the plat approval. The meeting record does not identify who made and who seconded the motions.
