- Courthouse HVAC: Commissioners approved moving forward with Daniel Design Studios and Deberry Engineering to bid on the base bid (Second Floor alternate 1, Third Floor alternate 2) for replacement or upgrade work at the Marion County Courthouse. Staff said bids will be issued to clarify costs for the Second and Third floors.
- District 5 equipment loan: The commission approved purchasing a John Deere loader for the Department of Transportation, District 5, financed through State Bank and Trust. The loan terms discussed included a principal amount of $65,000 at 4.75% interest with three annual payments; the motion passed after a voice vote.
- Solid waste hire: Commissioners approved hiring Roby Finley in the Solid Waste department at $13.75 per hour with a start date of 07/28/2025. Staff noted the hire replaces an employee who left and that Finley will be sent to CDL school this fall.
- Cleaning contract: Commissioners voted to cancel the contract for cleaning the administration office, courthouse and annex effective Sept. 30; staff said a new contract or bids will be prepared and county employees may be offered the cleaning work where appropriate.
