Town and Main Street Partnership volunteers updated the council on summer events and fall planning, saying attendance has been strong.
The Farmer’s Market saw its highest attendance when temporarily located along the front of the Pantherplex, and the group expects to return to the usual parking-lot location for the remainder of the season. The market administrator posts a weekly snapshot of expected vendors and performers; the council noted the market has grown from six original vendors to more than 30 active vendors on some weeks.
The council heard that this Saturday, Aug. 16, the market will host the second-annual youth farmers market organized by Hampstead Marketing Design where young vendors will sell food and crafts. The Hampstead Train Station front porch was repaired after rain damage, and Music in the Park performances continue through September with specific bands noted for upcoming dates.
The Hampstead Main Street Partnership is planning a fall fest on Oct. 11 on the grounds of War Memorial Park, St. John’s Church and Matthews Tire, with live music, vendors, children’s activities, craft demonstrations and a beer garden; the event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Town staff presented the update as information; no new permits or council approvals were requested at the August meeting.
