Grace Hu sworn in to Cerritos Economic Development Commission

Councilmember Jennifer Hong nominated Hu, citing her experience as a four‑term former mayor, investor and business owner. "I'm very honored to have her join us," Hong said during the nomination. The nomination was seconded and the council approved the appointment on a 5–0 vote.
City Clerk Cindy Nava administered the oath. In accepting the appointment, Hu said she wants to use her development experience — "48 years in business, build town homes, single family homes, and the office building, shopping center" — to assist the city on future development projects.
Staff noted Hu’s experience in local real estate and recent hospitality projects during the brief remarks following her swearing‑in.
