Paradise staff previews sewer project update and special public meeting; materials available online

Public Works Director Mark Maddox provided a status update on the Paradise Sewer Project and reminded the public about a special council meeting scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Performing Arts Center, where the alternatives analysis and responses to public comments will be presented.
Maddox said project staff completed a sewer collection system site walk, toured the City of Biggs wastewater treatment facilities for comparison and completed cost estimates for project alternatives. He said the ad hoc committee has recommended a preferred alternative and staff continues to pursue funding avenues.
Materials for the project — including meeting flyers, the PowerPoint and the July 24 special‑meeting packet — are posted at paradisesewer.com. Maddox encouraged residents to review the materials, attend the special meeting and participate in the public discussion; staff will report back to council with formal direction requests following the meeting.
No council action was requested at the presentation. Maddox said staff is committed to advancing the project through environmental review, design, right‑of‑way and funding steps to deliver sewer infrastructure to support long‑term recovery.
