Measure G Oversight Committee elects Jacob Sandoval chair, Jordan Caballero vice chair

The Measure G Oversight Committee elected Committee member Jacob Sandoval as chair and Committee member Jordan Caballero as vice chair during its July 24, 2025 meeting in Salinas.

Nominations opened after the meeting was called to order; a committee member nominated Jacob Sandoval for chair, and the committee conducted a roll-call vote. Committee members Caballero, Field, Narayan, Sandoval and Salai voted “yes,” and the motion passed. The committee then nominated and voted for Jordan Caballero as vice chair; the same members recorded “yes” votes and the motion passed.

The leadership election followed the committee’s reference to section 7 of the City of Salinas uniform bylaws for city commissions, committees and boards, which the staff member present cited as the basis for electing officers to serve until the committee’s next regular election.

The committee proceeded with the scheduled agenda after the votes and then conducted the pledge of allegiance and roll call. No public comments were made during the opening public-comment period.

The election was recorded by individual roll call rather than a voice-only tally.
