Chief School Business Official Mary Robinson presented the tentative 2025—26 budget. She told the board that the districtremains on target compared with the finalized 2024—25 numbers and that she had incorporated known property tax levy figures and an estimated 6% increase for the 2025 levy. Robinson said she included an additional $250,000 of Evidence-Based Funding (EBF) in the tentative budget but will update the budget if state allocations change. She also left Title 3 and Title 4 federal allocations in the tentative budget pending the stateand federal disbursement schedule; Title 2 was not added because an allotment had not been provided (this amount was about $98,000 last year, Robinson said).
Robinson said the district is showing an operating surplus of about $285,000 and a larger overall surplus driven primarily by the life-safety fund, which the district is building in advance of a life-safety survey due in 2026.
On the motion to publish the tentative budget and set the hearing date, the board moved, seconded and carried on roll call. The board will hold a public hearing on Sept. 15, 2025; members of the public wishing to speak may do so at that hearing prior to final budget adoption.
