Hamblen County Board of Education elects Johnny Denton chair, Jared Weems vice chair and Bunch as secretary

Board members nominated Denton for chair at the start of the meeting. With no further nominations, the board closed nominations and recorded an affirmative roll call, after which the presiding official announced Denton as chair and the board adjusted seating.
The board then took nominations for vice chair. Two nominees, Jared Weems and Bradley, were put forward. The board conducted a roll-call vote in which members named their choice aloud; the chair announced Weems as the successful nominee. The board later nominated Bunch for secretary; members responded on roll call and the chair affirmed the appointment.
The nominations and elections were handled under standard board procedures for officer selection; no related policy changes or contested procedures were recorded during the votes. The chair and other newly appointed officers moved on to conduct the remainder of the agenda.
