Mayor Cyril Jefferson introduced the motion, saying the funding would be “contingent upon completion of a request for proposals process to identify an entity to operate and program the space and the securing of at least 200,000 in matching private funds.” Council member Johnson seconded the motion, which passed on a voice vote.
