The Willard City Planning Commission reviewed a continued item concerning a conditional use permit issued April 19, 2001 to Quest/Maurice Roach for a communications tower at 1357 North Main (parcel 020400005).
Staff confirmed the tower is present at the address and that the Planning Commission previously approved the permit conditioned on the tower meeting the current ordinance’s height limitation, which commissioners said is 60 feet. Commissioners recalled the applicant originally proposed an 80-foot tower but were told the permit approval required compliance with a 60-foot limit; staff said the record shows the permit was finalized as long as the tower met the current ordinance.
Commissioners said they were unaware of the tower’s existence until it was raised on the agenda, and staff noted several meetings were required to resolve the permit conditions. No vote or revocation was made at the Aug. 7 meeting; the commission left the matter for staff follow-up and confirmed that a conditional use permit exists on the record.
