Humble ISD Education Foundation reports $2.4 million raised, $1.29 million awarded to district in 2024–25

The Humble ISD Education Foundation told the school board it raised $2,400,000 in fiscal year 2024–25 and provided $1,292,683 in direct support to Humble ISD during the year.

Kalandra Purvis, chair of the Education Foundation, gave the annual report during the board's regular meeting. “I’m thrilled to report that the foundation raised $2,400,000 last year,” Purvis said, adding that 41% of the funds came from special events and 11% from employee giving campaigns.

The report said the foundation awarded $85,583 in mini grants across 362 grants, $298,537 for 60 “innovative education” grants through the Foundation Prize Posse, and distributed $318,137 in scholarships to 295 students for 2024–25. Purvis told the board the foundation has awarded more than $1,400,000 in student scholarships in total and that the foundation’s lifetime support for Humble ISD now totals $20,600,000.

The foundation told trustees that operating expenses accounted for roughly 7.7% of revenues and that 30% of net proceeds are directed to an endowment that currently stands at $2,400,000. Purvis said the foundation’s intent is to grow that endowment to $5,000,000 and then spend scholarship and grant dollars from interest earned.

Superintendent Dr. Brown and board members thanked the foundation and its staff for fundraising and grant administration. The board received the report as an informational item; no board action was associated with the presentation.

Purvis also outlined upcoming foundation events, including a purse bingo on Aug. 22, 2025, and a golf tournament on Nov. 3, 2025, and encouraged district employees and community partners to participate in fundraising efforts.
