Hamblen County school board approves resolution to pursue $4.98 million energy-efficiency loan, authorizes Trane memorandum when counsel signs off

The Hamblen County Board of Education voted to approve a resolution authorizing the district to seek a $4,980,000 loan to fund multiple energy-conservation measures and approved an accompanying agreement with the Hamblen County Commission. The board also gave the district director permission to finalize and sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Trane once board counsel and the county attorney complete their review.

Board members approved the action as part of agenda item 12 after discussion about the remaining steps needed to secure county participation and the loan. Director Bunch said the county commission has reviewed the district’s submission and that the county’s attorney has already reviewed the district’s resolution and MOU.
