The Norwalk City Council approved a resolution authorizing the site plan for a Demos commercial building located north of the City State Bank property along Highway 28 and Turnberry Avenue.
City planning staff described the site as bounded by Highway 28 to the west, Turnberry to the north and a private drive to the east. Staff said the plan met architectural and zoning requirements, satisfied reduced open‑space requirements for that area, and provided the required parking (51–58 spaces were shown on the plan). The site will connect to the Elizabeth Holland stormwater drainage district; staff said there will be no on‑site detention and the site will use the district’s storm sewer system.
Council members moved and seconded the resolution; the roll call recorded affirmative votes from Council members Livingston, Meineke, Baker, Brown and Poole. The motion carried.
Staff noted the site does not include a sidewalk along Highway 28, and explained the city previously decided not to continue the trail on the east side past City State Bank when that area and Elizabeth Holland Park were developed. The council did not request changes to the site plan at the meeting.
