District reports summer bond work underway; flooring, tennis courts and pool filtration projects advance

At High School North, tennis-court reconstruction is in progress: demolition and underground work were complete and concrete pours were scheduled, with substantial truck traffic anticipated; the team said final coatings will follow a minimum curing period. Pool filtration equipment for High School North was staged for installation within weeks and dehumidification equipment bids were awarded; equipment fabrication timelines were described as long (about 30 weeks for rooftop units).
The architects also described pavement and sidewalk repairs, ADA-compliant concrete work, and ball-field grading and base work that will continue through the summer. The district noted it is blending district-managed projects with partner-managed work to save fees and increase capacity; playground design, mechanical-controls upgrades and district-wide water filtration work were also underway or entering design phases.
Board members asked about turnover timelines so custodians and staff could access spaces for fall cleaning; the architects said classrooms were ready and media centers awaited carpet shipments. The board discussed athletic scheduling: the tennis courts will not be available at the start of the fall season and the team is coordinating alternate sites with athletics staff. The district also said it will increase public communications — social media, signage with QR codes linking to photo updates, and periodic newsletters.
