One council member urged the town to coordinate with neighboring Walden and the county commissioner to seek changes to density assumptions and other provisions that could increase development pressure without commensurate infrastructure.
Council asked staff to prepare proposed amendments or a formal letter/resolution that the town could send to county commissioners before the county plan is finalized and sent to the state for review. Staff and council discussed the limited windows to intervene in the county process and said an early, consolidated town position would be preferable to piecemeal appeals after adoption.
