Planning commission unanimously approves three land‑use permits; schedules Coyote Creek for Oct. 6

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — The Sacramento County Planning Commission on Aug. 11 approved three land‑use actions — a use‑permit amendment and design review at 7904 Winding Way in Fair Oaks and two separate tentative subdivision/rezone proposals on Florin Road in the Vineyard community — by unanimous vote, with no public comment.
Kimber Gutierrez, principal planner, told commissioners that each item was “non contested” and staff was available to present if desired. Commissioners moved and seconded each item, and the clerk confirmed each vote passed with all members present.
The approvals move forward: PLMP2024‑00103 (use‑permit amendment and design review) for a property at 7904 Winding Way, described in staff remarks as approximately 283 feet west of the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Winding Way; PLMP2022‑00105 (special plan amendment, rezone, tentative subdivision map and design review) for property at 9924 Florin Road east of Bradshaw Road in the Vineyard community; and PLMP2022‑00106 (specific plan amendment, rezone, tentative subdivision map and design review) for property at 9836 Florin Road in the Vineyard community. For each item staff said the environmental document is exempt.

In other business Kimber Gutierrez advised the commission of future agendas: two items tentatively set for Aug. 25, three items for Sept. 8, one item for Sept. 22, and a large project, Coyote Creek, tentatively scheduled for Oct. 6. Commissioners were asked to notify staff of planned absences for those dates. The planning director did not present a report at the meeting.
The meeting opened with a brief nomination for a chair pro tempore to preside in the absence of the chair and vice chair, the Pledge of Allegiance and standard public participation instructions. The commission adjourned after the scheduled business.
