Student speakers described learning monitoring techniques (macroinvertebrate sampling), seeing treatment processes (membranes, aeration basins, UV light at the wastewater plant) and developing a collaborative art/scarecrow project to promote stormwater messages. Presenters thanked Fort Mill staff and the Fort Mill School District for supporting the internship and identified the program’s exposure to career options as an important outcome.
Council and the mayor praised the program and encouraged continued public engagement and small‑scale volunteer opportunities to help waterways. No formal action or funding request was recorded during the presentation.
