Mike Disselli, a reunion organizer, told the council the event has attracted alumni from across Northern Nevada and serves as a fundraiser for Sparks High School. "We're gonna have Sparks Railroaders, Reed Raiders. We're gonna have some Minogue Miners, Hug Hawks. This has turned into a Northern Nevada event," Disselli said.
Organizers described a schedule that includes Great Basin events Friday evening, a free grand reunion Saturday at Sparks High School, a car show with roughly 32 vehicles signed up, museum exhibits and shuttle service. They said some proceeds from associated merchandise and registrations will benefit the high school and other participating schools.
The council issued the proclamation and organizers thanked the city for support and for donated shuttle parking. The proclamation text traces the school’s founding and traditions and encourages residents to attend reunion activities.
