Midvale community council says group is pursuing 501(c)(3) status after successful summer movie nights

We are working on getting officially registered as a 501(c)(3), at which point we will be reaching out to the city to see what kind of collaboration we can do," said Luke Mains during the public-comment portion of the meeting. Mains said the group collaborated with Mayor Gettle on Midvale community movie nights held the previous three Mondays and expects to hold similar movie nights the first three weeks of August, though specific film selections were not yet determined.
Mains described the recent events as well received and said the community council looks forward to further partnerships with the city once its nonprofit registration is complete. The comment occurred during the public-comment section; no formal council action was requested or taken on the matter at the meeting.
