Tulsa County juvenile detention director reports staffing changes and new parenting classes

At the Aug. 4 Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the director of the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Home gave the board an operations update for July 23–30.
The director said the facility "interviewed 4 employees, during the period. We moved forward with all 4 of those pre hiring process. But during that process, 3 people voluntarily terminated." He characterized transports during the period as not significant.
The director also said mental health staff have started a new phase of programming: "We are doing parenting classes now. We have multiple use that come in that, are already parents. And so we started those parenting classes, and we've successfully transitioned 1 kid." No further details on class frequency, curriculum or funding were provided at the meeting.
The board moved to "accept and file" the juvenile detention home update; the motion passed on roll call. No formal policy changes or new funding were approved during the update.
Board members did not extend the discussion beyond the verbal update and accepted the report into the record.
