The Midway City Council voted to award a managed IT services contract to Nexus (contractor named in procurement materials) to provide ongoing IT support for city operations. Staff and IT reviewers recommended the award after vetting proposals and consulting with city IT staff. The monthly cost presented in the meeting was $2,829.82; staff said there was no start‑up cost and that the fee covers unlimited remote support during business hours and on‑site support as needed. Hardware, software and firmware purchases are not included in the monthly rate.
Staff told the council Nexus’ primary office is on the Wasatch front, which staff identified as desirable for timely on‑site response. City IT reviewers negotiated contract terms that allow termination after one year if the city is not satisfied. Councilmembers who spoke expressed confidence in staff and in the recommended vendor.
The council approved the contract and directed staff to finalize the agreement and transition services from the prior provider to Nexus.
