County recognizes intern Keonte Wright for lifesaving rescue at Lake Cunningham

Wright sustained a leg injury during the rescue but his quick action was credited with saving the child’s life.
Supervisor Young said the county designed the intern-and-earn program to serve young people like Wright and praised his courage. Wright addressed the board briefly and said he was thankful for the recognition.
The board applauded Wright and invited him forward for a photograph. The record notes the presence of emergency medical services and sheriff’s deputies at the recognition event.
