Carroll County planning staff reports master-plan work group findings, sends water-and-sewer amendment to state

A Carroll County planning bureau representative told the Hampstead commission that the county approved a spring 2025 water-and-sewer amendment and that master-plan work groups on agriculture, economy and housing have concluded and will forward recommendations to the county planning commission.
A representative from the Carroll County Bureau of Comprehensive Planning gave a brief update to the Hampstead Planning and Zoning Commission on the county’s planning efforts, including a recent county action on water-and-sewer mapping and progress on the county master plan.
The county staff member said the spring 2025 water-and-sewer amendment was approved by the Board of County Commissioners earlier in the week and that, once final documentation is received from the commissioners’ office, county staff will forward the materials to the Maryland Department of the Environment for final review and approval.
The planner also said master-plan work groups on agriculture, the economy and housing have concluded; recommendations from those work groups will be presented to the Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission as part of the master-plan update process.
The commission received the update as informational. No action was taken.
