Trousdale County Schools report enrollment, safety and construction updates

Construction updates included work on the athletic complex (masonry and roofing progress), corrections to stair treads where a contractor's measurements required remediation at the contractor’s expense, and an issue where hollow metal window frames were delivered in error and have since been reordered at the contractor’s expense. Staff said exterior stair corrections on some facades await fire marshal approval because tread changes altered egress specifications.
Staff also reviewed administrative matters: a posted athletic trainer position (to fill a resignation after football season), a personnel swap with Wilson County for a PE teacher, upcoming benchmarks and testing dates, and the director search timeline (application window and planned special meeting to review applicants). The board noted September as the month to elect officers and listed fall calendar dates including a youth fair closure and fall break.
No formal board action was taken on these operational updates during the reported discussion; the formal equipment purchase for the middle‑school chiller was handled separately in the meeting.
