The Clarkston Planning Commission on Aug. 2025 recommended that the town council approve a business license application for Renshaw's Handyman Service.
The commission discussed whether a contractor's license or parking requirements applied to the business. Jeff Renshaw, the applicant, told the commission the business will be a traveling general handyman service and would not require a contractor's license or dedicated parking. “I'll just be helping people at their property,” Renshaw said.
After staff review, a commissioner moved to recommend the application to the town council; another commissioner seconded the motion and the commission voted to recommend approval. The commission will forward the application and its recommendation to the council for final action at a subsequent meeting.
No members of the public spoke on the application during the hearing.
The commission did not record any conditions on the recommendation; the town council will complete final review and issue the license if it concurs with the recommendation.
