The council unanimously approved payment of the city’s bills and warrants and the July 10, 2025 regular-session minutes before taking up individual agenda items. On motions that passed, the council:
- Approved a contract to install additional post lamps on the north end of Orangeville and along Cemetery Road at a cost of $73,078. Funding will come from BC Road funds, a state‑restricted road/safety fund the city receives. The council voted 5-0 to approve the expenditure.
- Adopted Ordinance 2025-4 to collect a 1% transient room tax for short‑term rentals and similar lodging (rentals of 30 days or less). The council voted 5-0 to adopt the ordinance; the item implements local collection of revenue already flowing through the county.
