The Wylie Animal Shelter Advisory Board unanimously reappointed Amber Porter as chair and elected Michael Schwerin as vice chair during its Aug. 13, 2025 meeting at the Wylie Municipal Center.
Board members also approved the minutes of the May 14, 2025 meeting by unanimous vote.
During the meeting the board conducted roll-call and confirmed a quorum. Amber Porter was nominated to continue as board chair; the motion was seconded and the board approved it 5 to 0. Todd Pickens made the motion to elect Michael Schwerin as vice chair; the nomination was seconded and approved 5 to 0.
The board moved to accept the animal shelter advisory board minutes of May 14, 2025, and recorded that motion as passing 5 to 0. Later in the meeting the board voted to place the 2025 second-quarter statistical information for shelter operations on file; that motion passed 6 to 0.
With no further business, the board voted to adjourn; the record shows that motion passed 6 to 0 and the meeting ended.
The meeting opened with an invocation and pledge of allegiance and included a citizens participation period during which no one spoke.
