The Village of Wellington on Aug. 12 approved its FY2025‑26 annual action plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
Staff said the village’s CDBG allocation for the upcoming program year is $289,551. The proposed distribution — presented in the action plan and adopted by resolution (R2025‑44) — directs the majority of funds to housing rehabilitation projects, with smaller portions designated for youth services and employment training and for administration of the program.
The action plan includes goals for assisted homeowner rehabilitation and lists prior applicants and completed projects as examples. The item was presented as a public hearing; no public comment was offered on the plan and council approved the resolution by voice vote, 5‑0.
Ending Staff will forward the adopted action plan to HUD and continue to manage program intake, eligibility and project selection under the CDBG program.
