Commission approves $16,001.50 payment to BG Consultants for Rotary Bridge design work

Atchison County commissioners voted Aug. 12 to approve a purchase order for BG Consultants of Manhattan to pay architectural and engineering invoices for the Rotary Bridge facility.
The county's finance director said BG Consultants worked on drawing development in June and had progressed toward 50% design development by mid-July. The purchase order before the commission covered June and July billing and totaled $16,001.50. The finance director reported the county previously paid $21,004.96 under the contract and that the original contract balance was $62,800; the finance director said that after the $16,001.50 payment the county would still owe $25,001.54.
The finance director said the payment will be paid from Senior Village sale proceeds. A motion to approve the purchase order was moved and seconded; commissioners voted to approve, recorded in the minutes as passing 2 to 1.
The meeting minutes do not name individual yes/no votes. The finance director noted BG Consultants had been a month behind on billing at the time of the presentation.
