Council unanimously approves consent calendar including payments, contracts and grants

The Paso Robles City Council unanimously approved the nine items on the Aug. 5 consent calendar, covering administrative minutes, financial reports, contract payments and grant applications.

City Manager Chris Huot and Administrative Services Director Brian Cornell summarized the consent items. Notable items in the consent calendar included the treasurer—s report and a warrant register showing roughly $6.7 million in payments since the last report; the staff summary highlighted several payments exceeding $100,000, including attorney fees to Best Best & Krieger LLP (increments of approximately $271,049.44 and $242,701.83), a $2.2 million annual liability/workers' comp payment to the California Joint Power Insurance Agency, a $392,496 payment to First American Title Company related to an easement acquisition, a $336,289 property insurance payment, and payments tied to the Creston Road Phase 1 and other capital projects.

Other consent actions included renewing the Paso Robles Library Study Center lease, approving an application to the Land and Water Conservation Fund for additional funding on the Beechwood Park project (staff indicated the city would seek roughly $3,000,000), awarding a construction contract for water and sewer main rehabilitation on Seventeenth/Capitol Hill/Almond Court and a related change order tied to North Coast engineering for Creston Road Phase 2 preparatory work.

Councilmember Gregory moved to approve items 1 through 9, with a second by Councilmember Bausch. Roll call votes were all aye: Gregory, Bausch, Beal, Strong and Mayor Hammond. The motion passed unanimously.
