Council approves consent agendas and adjourns to executive session; CIP update presented

The Queen Creek Town Council approved several routine procedural items, received a quarterly update on capital improvement projects and recessed to an executive session to address confidential items.

Early in the meeting the council voted to adjourn to executive session; the motion passed. Later the council approved the regular consent agenda and the public‑hearing consent agenda by unanimous votes. The council then received a quarterly capital improvement projects (CIP) update from Dave Lipinski, the town’s CIP director, that covered recently completed and ongoing transportation and water infrastructure work.

Lipinski said the town turned on traffic signals at Riggs Road and Harvest Lake Drive and at Queen Creek and 220th; he reported completion of the Cloud Road/Chrisman roundabout and the Chrisman extension to the high school and described ongoing water‑line work related to grant commitments and coordination around the LG Energy Solutions site. “If you haven’t been up there recently, the LG site is organized chaos,” Lipinski said, describing cranes and staging activity and noting efforts to coordinate signal timing for construction traffic.

Motions and votes recorded at the meeting included: the motion to adjourn to executive session (motion and second recorded; vote passed), approval of the consent agenda (moved by Council Member McClure; second by Council Member Benning; vote passed unanimously), and approval of the public‑hearing consent agenda (motion and unanimous vote recorded). The council then recessed to executive session and later returned only to adjourn the meeting.

The council took no formal final action on CIP items at Tuesday’s meeting; the CIP update was informational. Several projects noted by staff are in design or under construction and will progress through normal permitting and contracting processes.
