Commissioners debated the inclusion window for former employees: some favored a two-year window, while others argued for a period tied to post‑COVID work conditions. The commission adopted a motion to approve the draft as presented and to include former employees who left in the preceding 2½ years.
Commissioners emphasized the survey will be anonymous. The manager and Epic MRA will collect contact information for former employees from city records and administer the survey; staff said the data presented back to the commission will be anonymized and aggregated, with no respondent-identifying information provided to city staff or elected officials.
Commissioner Hussain encouraged current employees to participate and stressed that the survey is a chance for staff input. The commission also discussed possible reformatting and minor language edits that Epic MRA will implement to improve usability before fielding the survey.
