The council also adopted zoning changes that will allow automobile-related uses in light- and heavy-industrial districts, approved a specific-use permit to operate a pre-owned auto sales lot at 1801 Woodworth Boulevard and rezoned 2.892 acres at 8520 Wilson Avenue to a planned development district to allow a multipurpose event center.
Other approvals included budget adjustments tied to capital projects, procurement contracts for road-building materials and security services, authorization to apply for HUD grant programs (CDBG and HOME), ratification of emergency repairs at the wastewater plant and the release of retainage for the Pleasure Island marina rehabilitation project.
