County launches Snake River public‑access mapping and begins website redesign, staff says

County administration staff reported July 28 that a website redesign and public engagement tools are underway and that the county has published a digital mapping effort to show public access easements along the Snake River.
County staff said the online Snake River mapping is the product of converting older paper records that resulted from a federal‑court settlement into a digital, searchable format so the public can identify recreational access easements. A county commissioner noted the easements arose from litigation and a settlement and that the mapping work addressed decades of paper records that previously made public access difficult to find.
Administration also reported launching a CivicPlus website redesign process, producing new branding templates for departments, adding a summer engagement intern to support web and content work and beginning wayfinding and signage projects. Staff said they will continue to coordinate with departments executing the new brand templates and website content strategy.
Commissioners thanked staff for the mapping work and noted it improves public use of long‑standing access rights that had not been clearly mapped.
