Warren County schools update stadium restrooms, begin sports-lighting and playground projects

Warren County facilities staff reported on multiple construction and repair projects intended to be complete ahead of the upcoming fall sports season. David, a facilities staff member, told the board the new restroom building at Nundley Stadium is finished inside and fixtures are set, and a contractor will tie plumbing to the city so the facility "should be up and running by football season."
The district is negotiating final pricing for the West Basement project after fire marshal review; plans have been approved and the contractor has been cleared to begin, David said. He said fire-safety requirements changed the project scope and pricing and staff are "working through that process to get the pricing in our budget."
The board heard that sidewalk and fencing work on campus sidewalks is complete and that crews poured concrete for a new playground pavilion, with materials ordered and installation expected to proceed quickly. David said the projects will provide shade and improved access on playgrounds.
On athletics infrastructure, the district is preparing to replace several field lights with LED fixtures. Mary, a district staff member, said TVA visited the sites and committed a small reimbursement; crews are aiming to begin work sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 22. David and others told the board they expect the LED fixtures to provide energy savings and that work will be scheduled to avoid disrupting fall sporting events as much as possible.
Board members also discussed longer-term projects, including replacement of large high‑school bleacher sections. David said the existing bleachers are very large and heavy, creating logistical challenges; staff have solicited bids and are continuing conversations with multiple companies. The board did not take a vote on new capital funding during the update; staff said any price changes will be brought back as needed for budget planning or future board action.
