Votes at a glance: board approves financial report, consent agenda, policy change and moves to closed session

The Saint Croix School District Board of Education recorded several formal actions at its Sept. 17 meeting, including approval of financial statements, the consent agenda, adoption of a policy second reading and a motion to move into closed session.

Financial report: Board members voted to accept the district financial report as of Aug. 31, 2025. The report gave a total cash balance of $4,149,808.38 across the district’s accounts (Citizens Day and Tang checking $4,070,195.39; money market $12,292.87; other smaller accounts listed). Jerry made the motion to approve the financial report; Lance seconded the motion and the board approved by voice vote.

Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda, which included routine items and a transition-program agreement (Project SEARCH) focused on students with IEPs near graduation. A motion was made and seconded; the board approved by voice vote.

Policy 532.2 (staff holidays): The board approved the second reading of board policy 532.2 (staff holidays). A board member moved and another seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.

Closed session: The board made a motion to convene to closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation of public employees and to approve resignations, retirements, terminations and contract modifications. A motion and second were recorded and the board voted to enter closed session.
