POST FALLS, Idaho — The Post Falls Urban Renewal Agency deferred final action on a proposed contract with the Metz Group for an impact assessment of two closed urban renewal districts and directed the district committee to review the project's scope at a Sept. 30 meeting.
Staff said the Metz Group provided a scope of work to assess how two closed urban renewal districts have influenced commercial and industrial growth after infrastructure investments. The assessment is intended to update a 2016 economic study previously performed by METS (as referenced in the meeting materials).
Agency staff reported they are coordinating contributions and input from the Coeur d'Alene Economic Development Corporation and the Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization. Staff estimated the data-company analysis would run from late October through December, with a final report expected for review in early 2026.
Commissioners were told the district review committee will examine the scope of work and other project documents at its Sept. 30 committee meeting; staff indicated the item will likely be pushed to the October commission meeting for further action.
